Your hair is a veil
Body hair means the formula needs to reach the skin rather than collect on the hair, so Jana works the application around its density across chest, arms and legs.
A subtler tan, planned around body hair, training and the days you live in motion. Your appointment works around your gym, not the other way around.
The chemistry is identical for everyone. What differs is practical: your hair, your sweat, and the depth you actually want.
Body hair means the formula needs to reach the skin rather than collect on the hair, so Jana works the application around its density across chest, arms and legs.
Heavier sweating and friction from belts, collars and gym gear can shorten a tan. The first 24 hours should be free of hard training, so the timing is planned around your sessions.
Most men want a result that reads as healthy rather than tanned, so a measured depth and a neutral or cooler bronzer usually suit best. Unity NR is often a good fit.
The ideal, written down. None of it is a condition of booking.

Gentle glove exfoliation at every shower, daily, with light pressure. Moisturize regularly and wear sunscreen. Skip body scrubs; many leave an oily residue.
You do not need to stop anything on your own. Retinoids and exfoliating acids speed fading, and benzoyl peroxide can lighten a tan where applied. Tell Jana what you use and she will plan around it.
Ideally, shave or wax at least a day before. Ideal timing is not always possible, and a gentle shave the morning of is fine.
Shower and exfoliate gently with the glove, then dry thoroughly. No deodorant, cologne or lotion on areas being tanned. Loose dark clothing and slip-on shoes.
Rapid Development and Unity NR rinse at about 2, 4 or 6 hours depending on depth, and Jana sets your time at the appointment. Lukewarm water only, no soap, pat dry with a dark towel. The color keeps developing for about 24 hours.
Heavy sweat during development can leave streaks, so save hard training for after the first day. Rinse promptly after workouts and swims.
Moisturize regularly. As the tan reaches its final days, returning to the glove evens the fade and prepares your skin for the next appointment.
A neutral bronzer that sits well on almost any undertone, at a measured depth that reads as a good week outdoors. The manufacturer describes it as sweat-resistant, which helps once you are back in the gym or on the trails above Soquel. Rapid Development, with its cool, even brown, is the other common choice.

Short enough for a calendar reminder.

A private, appointment-only studio and a short appointment, about twenty minutes. Tell Jana when you would like to look your best and she will work the days backward from there.
