Three things shift everything: your dress, your camera, and the rhythm of your morning. We plan for each, so the day asks nothing of you that you haven't already rehearsed.

Golden hour, indoor flash, a candlelit reception. Your tan should look like you in every one of them, which is why the trial happens in your own light first.

Your final tan is two to three days before the ceremony, never the night before. By the time hair and makeup arrive, the color has fully developed and the first rinse is long behind you.

The trial tan
A trial shows you the color in your own mirror, at your dress fitting and in the light where you will actually be photographed, and it gives time to refine the formula or depth before it matters. Wear the neckline you will wear on the day.
The Weeks Before
Care for your skin
Gentle glove exfoliation at every shower, regular moisturizing, water and sunscreen. Ideally, shave or wax at least a day before each tan, though a gentle shave the morning of is fine.
1–2 Days Before Each Event
Engagement photos, showers, the bachelorette
Book one to two days before each event, since every formula develops over 24 hours. Rapid Development is a fine choice here: it rinses within hours.
2–3 Days Before
Your bridal party
One after another, each formula matched to her own undertone, never one blanket spray for everyone.
