How a Tan Works
Two colors, one tan.
The color you leave with and the color you wake up to are two different things, and knowing which is which takes most of the guesswork out of the first day.
The tan itself
DHA, the active ingredient, reacts with amino acids in the outermost layer of skin and develops over about 24 hours with every formula, whenever you rinse. It fades gently as those cells are shed, usually over 7 to 14 days.

Arrive clean and dry, with no lotion, oil or deodorant, and leave wearing the guide color.
- 2 to 12 hours
Your rinse
Your first shower rinses away the guide color. Jana gives you your own rinse time, based on the formula and the depth you chose.

Full depth
The tan keeps developing until it settles into its full color, whenever you rinsed.

Skin prepared first
A gentle glove exfoliation, plenty of water and moisturizer in the days before, then arriving clean and dry, give the color an even surface to develop on.
Botanical nutrition
Depending on the formula: niacinamide and hyaluronic acid in Unity NR, organic plant extracts and hyaluronic acid in Bronze Organics. Hydration first.
Absolute privacy

Jana began studying sunless tanning in 2002 and opened deSoleil in 2007. She is still the only technician deSoleil has ever had, so every tan is applied by her, with the Infinity Sun formulas she has used since the first day. The conversation comes first, the formula second, the color last. Always in that order.
